For the second year in a row IEEE SA teamed with Korea Electronics Association (KEA) to present a joint workshop at Korea Electronics Show (KES). As a leading global standards development organization (SDO), IEEE SA provides an open platform to global stakeholders to develop market-oriented standards, and Korea is a global leader in ICT technology that IEEE helps standardize.
Jon Rosdahl, IEEE 802.11™ First Vice Chair and IEEE 802® Executive Committee member, provided an update on the most recent interactions between IEEE and other SDOs on 5G standards, particularly on how they cooperate. Over 50 attendees from Korea learned how 5G standards efforts are building guidance on the future use of unlicensed spectrum. Walter Sun, IEEE SA Global Strategy Manager, said, “We hope the information provided at KES will be valuable in helping companies refine their business strategies and fine-tune their R&D plans.”
