About the Activity
Connectivity and telecom systems play a central role to achieve sustainability goals. In its Vision 2030 SDG (Sustainability Development Goals) the United Nations has proclaimed access to the Internet as a basic human right and has said that these goals cannot be achieved without affordable access to the Internet by everyone on this planet for the betterment of humanity.
The ICAID will be focused on all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) standards, products, services, and organizations that are actively involved in ICT industry, either by the means of Research and development, manufacturing, end-user services, and experiences.
Goals of the Activity
The ICAID will include the development of requirements, frameworks, best practices, guidance, and supporting techniques and tools related to the achievement of sustainable development considering smartness and resilience, to help all Cities and Communities and their interested parties such that both rural and urban areas become more sustainable.
The ICAID will provide a platform to engage industry experts to develop ideas and recommendations that would result in standards, best practices, and technical reports for telecommunications equipment and environments in the areas of deployment, energy efficiency, environmental (including health and safety) impacts, power, and protection. The work products will enable vendors, operators, and their customers to deploy and operate reliable, environmentally conscious communications and computing technologies.
