The purpose of this initiative is to identify existing standards, standards in progress, and supporting technical guidance that is relevant and valuable to the development of IoT. Areas of focus for these efforts will include many important IoT development elements such as:
- Use cases
- Requirements
- Architectural models
- End-to-end security and privacy approaches
- Applications
Exploration of this activity will include:
- Proposals for standardization projects,
- Comprehensive roadmaps, white papers and educational materials that may include Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
- Certification materials and/or programs
- An efficient, economical environment for building consensus and producing shared results
- Proposals for conferences and summits
- Cooperation with additional industry alliances focused in this field
Get Involved
We invite you to join experts that span the fields of engineering and communications to industrial controls and systems, instrumentation, as well as those engaged in application use cases.
The Initiative is global, open and inclusive, welcoming all individuals or representatives of organizations dedicated to advancing technology for humanity.
Initiative Outcomes
This activity brings together a range of IEEE Standards Association IoT initiatives with outputs expected to include:
