On 12 August 2015, members of the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) met with members of the Israeli Smart Energy Association (ISEA), to participate in an ISEA member meet-up and present information on IEEE Smart Grid standards and activities. At the event, Moira Patterson, Global Affairs Program Director, IEEE SA, and Sri Chandra, Director, Standards & Technology at IEEE India, introduced IEEE SA and its portfolio of activities in Smart Grid. Robby Simpson, System Architect for GE Digital Energy and Corporate Advisory Group (CAG) member, presented on IEEE 2030.5™, the Smart Energy Profile 2.0. Jun YU, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) and also a CAG member, presented information on the current Smart Grid challenges, trends in China, and IEEE standards activities with SGCC. Mr. Chandra concluded the presentations with information about Smart Grid Activities in India. There were over thirty people from Israeli companies, standardization organizations, and local utilities that attended the event and participated in discussions.
